“Morning” Sickness

  • Posted on June 1, 2009 at 20:19

Wow! Its June already, where is the year going?

I wanted to give a pregnancy update.  Thanks to everyone for the Congratulations and all the wonderful comments I have gotten on all the social networks!

I want to start by asking a question.  Who in the world came up with the term “Morning Sickness”? It had to be a guy because a woman who had experienced it would know that it doesn’t immediately stop at noon every day! Why don’t they just call it “Month Sickness”.  Most of you probably already know that I have been dealing with this issues for over a month now.  Almost immediately after I took the pregnancy test the Nausea set in.  For several weeks that’s all it was.  I had no real appetite but what I did eat was staying down.  Then week 7 of the pregnancy came.  Once I threw up that first time, that was it.  For several days I wasn’t able to keep anything down.  I called the my wonderful Dr and she put me on a medication called Ondansetron, which is typically given to cancer patients who are going through Chemo.

The medication worked almost immediately.  Well, I should say that the medicine helped with keeping what I ate down, but it did nothing for the constant gagging and feeling like I need to throw up.  That has remained.  Some days its worse than others but I pray that since I am almost 10 weeks it will subside shortly!

The other issues I am dealing with is the fact that I am not hungry at all! Even thought I technically feel like eating I can’t.  Usually I get really hungry and then fix something to eat and the gagging begins.  I feel like I haven’t eaten in a month.  I have lost some weight that I could afford to lose but all I want to do is have my appetite back and be able to eat those good fatty foods I  love.

I have however had a few cravings.  For several weeks I wanted Cracker Barrel’s chicken and dumplings.  I found a recipe that said they were just like the real ones and made it.  It actually tasted great and I was able to eat the entire meal! Then, I got the craving for Banana Popsicles and a banana snow cone.  After looking at Wal-mart several times I finally found the Banana pops! Now all I need is that snow cone! I am hoping that our trip to Arkansas next week will lead me to a snow cone shop!

Well that is my week 9-10 update.  I have an appointment on Wednesday so if I have any news I will pass it along.  Have a great week!

Come on Razorback fans, get over it!

Good Saturday morning.  I decided this morning that I wanted to Blog about something that is really bugging me.  It has to do with a small, or maybe not so small, group of Razorback fans.I am very frustrated by the news reports I am hearing.

I guess I should give a brief background.  11 years ago Arkansas hired a former Razorback, Houston Nutt, as their head coach.  The enthusiasm for Nutt was huge! Over the course of the next ten years, Houston Nutt led the Hogs to 75 Victories and 8 bowl games.  Many big names have came through his program and went on ot play in the NFL.  One player was a runner up in the Heisman. Houston Nutt being the head coach had a part in all these players successes.  I will admit that last year, things got a little sticky.  Many things were said and dont by Houston Nutt, the players, and the media that never hsould ahve happened.  It may have been time for Houston to leave, but the way the fans have and continue to react is sickening.  Razorback fans have always been known as being polite nad having class.  Over the last year we true Razorback fans have been given a bad name nad laughed at by many other organizations.  At the end of the season last year a group of fans banned together to wear black in protest of Nutt.  Once thye got what they wanted, and he resigned you figure that would be the end of the protest.

We now come to today.  Arkansas has a new coach in Bobby Patrino and Houston Nutt is now the head coach of Ole Miss. The former and coach, will return to Donald W. Reynolds Stadium for a game between his new team and his old.  I believe Houston Nutt will always be a Razorback fan no matter how sorry the “Razorback fans” treat him.  There are rumors flying around that the same group that wore black last year will wear black today. They are also planning to Boo Nutt when his new team takes the field.  All I have to say about that is GROW UP! MOVE ON! If you are a true fan of the Hogs you will like them win or lose. You would realize that we aren’t having a great season and our current team and coach need our support.  Lets move on! Show some class. Go to this game and support your team! Be good sports. Houston Nutt is a great coach nad Ole Miss will give Arkansas a huge challenge today. We have already been humilated enough by the media because of your actions.  Lets not fuel the fire! Have a great Saturday, and GO HOGS!!
