Super Day

It is Super Bowl Sunday! I am sad to say that my Dallas Cowboys did not make it to the big stage tonight but what a game it was! The New Orleans Saints made an their first every appearance and did it with a rookie Quarterback in Drew Brees.  They were taking on an experienced Super Bowl Champion team in the Indianapolis Colts.  I have always liked the Colts Quarterback, Peyton Manning.  Up until about an hour before the game I was not sure who I was going to root for.  I had told myself all I wanted was a good close game and some very funny commercials.  I didn’t really get either tonight.  I decided just before kick-off that I was going to root for the Saints due to the fact that they were the underdogs and I like it when the underdog wins.  Chris told me that he is a Cowboys fan but has always liked the Colts so that was who he would be cheering for.  So the stage in our house was set.  Who would end the night happy?  Here are a few pictures to show a time line of the  game.

Chris was relaxing on “his” couch watching the game, while Isaac was chillin’, and kicking his Dad in the stomach.

Chris was happy because……

At the end of the 3rd Quarter the Colts were leading by 1! Peyton Manning had only 15 minutes to go.

Jordan was not interested in the game or commercials and decided to play on his laptop instead. (We are going to have to have a talk with him about this…our kids WILL love football…)

Chris’ happy feeling did not last long, because…….

the SAINTS WON!!! Who Dat? Geaux Saints!!!

The final score of the 44th Super Bowl is 31-17.  What a great game and a great evening with the family.

Come on Razorback fans, get over it!

Good Saturday morning.  I decided this morning that I wanted to Blog about something that is really bugging me.  It has to do with a small, or maybe not so small, group of Razorback fans.I am very frustrated by the news reports I am hearing.

I guess I should give a brief background.  11 years ago Arkansas hired a former Razorback, Houston Nutt, as their head coach.  The enthusiasm for Nutt was huge! Over the course of the next ten years, Houston Nutt led the Hogs to 75 Victories and 8 bowl games.  Many big names have came through his program and went on ot play in the NFL.  One player was a runner up in the Heisman. Houston Nutt being the head coach had a part in all these players successes.  I will admit that last year, things got a little sticky.  Many things were said and dont by Houston Nutt, the players, and the media that never hsould ahve happened.  It may have been time for Houston to leave, but the way the fans have and continue to react is sickening.  Razorback fans have always been known as being polite nad having class.  Over the last year we true Razorback fans have been given a bad name nad laughed at by many other organizations.  At the end of the season last year a group of fans banned together to wear black in protest of Nutt.  Once thye got what they wanted, and he resigned you figure that would be the end of the protest.

We now come to today.  Arkansas has a new coach in Bobby Patrino and Houston Nutt is now the head coach of Ole Miss. The former and coach, will return to Donald W. Reynolds Stadium for a game between his new team and his old.  I believe Houston Nutt will always be a Razorback fan no matter how sorry the “Razorback fans” treat him.  There are rumors flying around that the same group that wore black last year will wear black today. They are also planning to Boo Nutt when his new team takes the field.  All I have to say about that is GROW UP! MOVE ON! If you are a true fan of the Hogs you will like them win or lose. You would realize that we aren’t having a great season and our current team and coach need our support.  Lets move on! Show some class. Go to this game and support your team! Be good sports. Houston Nutt is a great coach nad Ole Miss will give Arkansas a huge challenge today. We have already been humilated enough by the media because of your actions.  Lets not fuel the fire! Have a great Saturday, and GO HOGS!!
